Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov: Development of the market of intellectual property is important for all Russian regions

On November 7 at a field meeting of the Council on issues of intellectual property “The role of Russian regions in development of the market of intellectual rights” held by Chairman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly Valentina Matvienko, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said that development of the market of intellectual property is important for all Russian regions.
He noted that development of the market of intellectual property is an important part of modern economic development. Tatarstan has chosen the strategy of innovative development and is intensively working in this area, he added.
Rustam Minnikhanov informed that the share of innovative products by industrial organisations and services makes 18.4 per cent, and according to results of 2012 it increased by 3.5 per cent. Last year employees of enterprises made 21 thousand innovation proposals.
Today Tatarstan is one of 5 top regions in Russia by the number of applications for discoveries sent to Federal Service for Intellectual Property, Patents and Trademarks.
For 10 years the whole sector for supporting innovative activity has formed in Tatarstan. Special premises for implementing new projects, including SEZ Alabuga, Innopolis, Himgard, industrial parks, business incubators were organized. Much emphasis is put on development of IT industry in Tatarstan. There are two IT parks with 200 companies working in the republic, the Innopolis project is under implementation.
“For further development of the republic we need to create the market of intellectual property. Cooperation with Federation Council, Federal Service for Intellectual Property, Patents and Trademark, Ministry of economic development, World Organisation of Intellectual Property, Association of Innovative Regions of Russia helps to carry out this work,” Rustam Minnikhanov summarized.
On May 26, speaking at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic held in a videoconference mode with participation of all municipal regions of Tatarstan and focused on events scheduled for June 1, International Children’s Day, as well as the implementation of the “Summer in Tatarstan” programme, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva appealed that parents should closely supervise their children during recreational activities near water in order to prevent accidents.
On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
On 16 May, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with participation of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov reported that the sowing of spring crops is in full swing in the republic with 1m 38 thousand hectares or 61 per cent of the planned have been sown.
On May 14, on the sidelines of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Head of the Federal Service for Accreditation Dmitry Volvach signed an agreement on interaction and cooperation in the development of the halal industry.
