On March 18, Russian Ministry of Emergency hosted a video-conference on readiness for seasonal risks, which was headed by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev with participation of the Head of the Russian Emergency department Aleksandr Kurenkov, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and the Head of the Chief Directorate of the Russian Emergencies Ministry for Tatarstan Irek Kadamov taking part in videoconference mode.
Dmitry Patrushev drew special attention of the heads of the regions to the state of hydrotechnical structures, ownerless facilities, checking the readiness of stormwater systems and under-bridge spaces and work to establish flood zones and protect them.
To test practical actions for the elimination of possible consequences of floods and natural fires in the regions, command and staff exercises were launched. They will take place in two stages under the personal control of the head of the Russian Emergencies Ministry of Russia.
Dmitry Patrushev instructed the Ministry of Natural Resources and the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia, together with the regions, to create an interdepartmental headquarters to monitor the situation in the Central Federal District, as well as to monitor the situation throughout Russia on a weekly basis.
The exercises were also organized in Kazan.
