On 15 April, speaking at a briefing in the Government House of the republic, the Tatarstan First Deputy Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Ilnur Gubaydullin informed that 268 illegal waste dumps have been revealed since the beginning of the two-months cleaning campaign which started on 1 April of the current year as a support to the national project “Ecological Wellbeing”.
The main aim of the campaign is cleaning areas of settlements, revealing and removal of illegal dumps and brining the territories into proper sanitary-epidemiological conditions after the loss of snow cover.
The Deputy Minister told about inspection tours of the Kazan region of Gorky and Kyybyshev railroads, examinations of sanitary conditions of highways and their shoulders and complaints coming to the public ecological center from all communication channels. He informed that 1 382 complaints (including dumps, water and air pollution and other violations of ecological legislation) have been submitted from the beginning of the current year.
Ilnur Gubaydullin also told that more than 63 thousand people and 1 500 units of machinery have been involved into the cleaning campaign.
