As many as 691 thousand out of 1m228 thousand hectares of grain crops threshed in Tatarstan

On 23 August, speaking at a meeting held by the the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov with participation of the Prime Minister of the republic Aleksey Pesoshin in the Government House of the republic with all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference,   the regional Minister of Agriculture and Food Marat Zyabbarov reported that 691 thousand out of 1m228 thousand hectares of grain crops have been threshed in Tatarstan, producing 2m866 thousand tonnes of grain with the average yield of 41.5 centners per hectare.

He clarified that the threshing slowdown in the last two weeks was caused by 69mm of rainfall with the norm of 55mm and in a number of regions this number exceeded 80mm.

However, in Kaybitsy, Spassk and Chistopol regions about 80 per cent of areas have already been harvested, the Minister added.

Marat Zyabbarov also informed about the number of machinery involved in the harvest and that practically all regions of the republic started sowing winter crops.

He also reminded about the Second All-Russia Forum of plant selection breeders and seed producers, held with participation of representatives from 17 regions of Russia as well as Belarus, Armenia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan and the Russian Minister of Agriculture Oksana Lut.

Speaking about work of agribusiness enterprises at marketplaces in 2024 and the first half of 2025, Marat Zyabbarov informed that four thousand Tatarstan producers work at Russian marketplaces including the Our Native digital platform, procuring more than 98 thousand goods, including meat, milk, fish, honey, berries and vegetables and bakery products.

He said that Tatarstan ranks the ninth among other Russian regions in the amount of sales, with the total sales on market.
