On 12 October Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin, the Hero of Russia Aleksandr Lapin, the regional Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Aid to the Prime Minister of the republic Vladimir Maystrenko and other officials took part in a solemn opening of the Memory Garden Square in Vvedenskaya Sloboda of Verkhniy Uslon region of the republic.
This square is a symbol of memory for those who fell in the fire of battle not only during the Great Patriotic War, but also in Afghanistan, Chechnya, Georgia, Syria, and other regions of the world. This is an eternal reminder of the importance of carefully preserving the historical heritage and deep respect for the exploits of the fallen, a memory of the exploits of soldiers and officers who honorably fulfilled their military duty.
Speaking at the ceremony, Aleksey Pesoshin said: “Today we are opening the Memory Garden Square which will immortalize valor of warriors whose devotion to the Motherland became a symbol of true patriotism. This square embodies our collective gratitude to the heroes whose exploits will forever remain in the history of the state. We honor both the veterans who brought the Great Victory and the modern defenders who fight for Russia's interests today. It is especially symbolic that we are opening this garden in 2025, the year declared by Russian President Vladimir Putin as the Year of Defender of the Fatherland. This is a deeply significant decision. It emphasizes that the defense of the Motherland is not a relic of the past, but a value that connects generations.”
The Prime Minister of Tatarstan thanked everyone whose efforts and diligence brought this noble initiative to life – the designers, builders, district administration, and all residents and concluded: “May this square become a symbol of our gratitude, loyalty to traditions, and unwavering strength of spirit. Eternal glory to the heroes! Eternal memory to the fallen!”
After Aleksandr Lapin and the Head of Verkhniy Uslon region Yevgenit Varakin in their speeches also emphasized the importance of the current event, the participants of the ceremony lit the Eternal Flame and laid flowers to the memorial.
In the end of the ceremony Aleksey Pesoshin handed in state awards.
