“Buran” (Snow storm) plan put into operation in Tatarstan

On 4 January Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin, who is the First Deputy Chairman of the Commission of prevention and elimination of emergency situation and ensuring fire safety of the republic,   has taken a decision to put into operation the “Buran” (Snow storm) plan in Tatarstan starting from 2 pm on 4 January until the consequences of adverse meteorological events are eliminated by ministries, departments and organizations which ensure the smooth movement of road and rail transport in winter.

The decision of the Commission was caused by the deterioration of meteorological conditions associated with heavy snowfalls and the formation of snow drifts on the roads of the republic and rules to heads of ministries, departments and organizations of the republic to organize the involvement of forces and resources in the implementation of the activities of the Buran plan, to report about fulfillment of the plan every six hours to the regional Ministry of Transport and Road Economy and the operational duty shift of the Main Directorate of the Russian Emergencies Ministry for Tatarstan and ensure timely informing the population about the current situation on the roads of municipal districts of the republic.
