Rustam Minnikhanov: “Stability in the republic depends on work of municipalities”

On December 25 at the 8th congress of the Council of municipalities Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov noted an important role of local self-government in accomplishment of the objectives faced by the republic.
Chairman of the council Minsagit Shakirov made report on results of work. He noted that it is important to support citizens’ participation in municipal management, and deputies have to meet with citizens more often.
According to Minsagit Shakirov, budget revenues made 62 bln rubles in 2013. He called heads of municipalities to actively participate in implementation of all regional programmes.
Heads of municipalities, in their turn, told about problems of local self-government.
Summing up, Rustam Minnikhanov said that regional leadership is worried about problems of municipalities. He continued that 2013 was a hard year, major efforts were taken to host Universiade. “It would be difficult to fulfill all tasks without your help,” Tatarstan President addressed municipalities.
Rustam Minnikhanov believes that demography is the main factor that influences efficiency of work of municipalities.
Tatarstan President told about economic and social development of the republic and major projects being implemented, TANECO plant, the Complex of heavy residue processing TAIF-NK, and Ammonia plant.
Rustam Minnikhanov informed that total revenues of industrial enterprises will make 92 bln rubles in 2013.
Speaking about agriculture, Rustam Minnikhanov said that support of private farmsteads is important.
Tatarstan President also told about other regional project, in particular, capital repair of houses and schools, construction of first-aid stations, multi-purpose centres, and provision of housing for district police officers.
Summing up, Rustam Minnikhanov thanked heads of municipalities for their work and wished success in new year.
On May 26, speaking at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic held in a videoconference mode with participation of all municipal regions of Tatarstan and focused on events scheduled for June 1, International Children’s Day, as well as the implementation of the “Summer in Tatarstan” programme, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva appealed that parents should closely supervise their children during recreational activities near water in order to prevent accidents.
On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
On 16 May, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with participation of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov reported that the sowing of spring crops is in full swing in the republic with 1m 38 thousand hectares or 61 per cent of the planned have been sown.
On May 14, on the sidelines of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Head of the Federal Service for Accreditation Dmitry Volvach signed an agreement on interaction and cooperation in the development of the halal industry.
