Aleksey Pesoshin: 50 years of Motor Sports of Naberezhnyye Chelny are the history of speed and master craft

On 18 September Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin took part in a ceremonial event dedicated to the 50th anniversary of Motor Sports in Naberezhnyye Chelny where he started with looking round racing cars exhibition, including legendary KAMAZ-Master trucks which for the first time won the Dakar race in 1996, organized in front of the Organ Hall.

In his welcoming speech, Aleksey Pesoshin said that 50 years of Motor Sports of Naberezhnyye Chelny are the history of speed and master craft. “The city quite justifiably has become the point of attraction for those who live with races. Over five decades, hundreds of drivers, mechanics, engineers and organizers have passed through the world of racing and rallies. We remember the first tracks, the first victories and those who stood at the origins of the movement,” He thanked old stagers, coaches and racers and said:” By your own example you demonstrate true character and the drive to win to the younger generation. Thanks to you young people can see a decent example and the city – hew horizons of development.”

The regional Prime Minister stated that motor sports continues to develop and new disciplines, machine and names continue to arise. “I am sure the upcoming seasons will be just as spectacular,” he said and handed in a number of state awards for the contribution into the development and popularizations of motor sports in the republic.

In his turn the Director General of the KAMAZ Automaker Sergey Kogogin emphasized that the history of motor sports in Nabrezhnyye Chelny is inextricably linked with the KAMAZ-Master team. “We are proud of victories of our racers. You have earned great respect abroad. It is not be chance that you are called “The Blue Armada”. I am sure you have many great victories ahead!” he said. 

The Mayor of Naberezhnyye Chelny Nail Magdeev reminded that the 50th anniversary of motor sports coincided with the 400th birthday of the city and the 50th anniversary of the issue of the first KAMAZ truck and thanked old stagers of the motor sports who stood at its inception, shaping its traditions and the foundation for future successes. 

The KAMAZ Master team was organized in 1988 and today it is the only enterprise team of Russia successfully representing the country in the world motor sports and a multiple-time podium finisher and 19-time winner of the Dakar Rally, holding the top spot in the world rankings for automotive teams.
