Olympic Torch 2014 is carried through the island town of Sviyazhsk

On December 30 Sochi Olympic Torch arrived in Sviyazhsk. Chairman of State Council Farid Mukhametshin welcomed torchbearers and the audience. Head of Zelenodolsk region Aleksandr Tygin, Aide to Tatarstan President on social issues, CEO of Regional Foundation of Revival of Historical and Cultural Monuments Tatyana Larionova took part in the ceremony.
Farid Mukhametshin noted that the Olympic Torch was brought to the historical place - the island town of Sviyazhsk that was reconstructed due to Regional Foundation of Revival of Historical and Cultural Monuments and first Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev.
“Sochi Olympic Torch is the symbol of people’s friendship and warm hearts. We would like to share that friendship and warmth we experienced during Universiade 2013, when the Russian team won many prizes. I wish this torch to be brought to Sochi with the same success. Have a good journey, the flame of sport, youth, our Olympic Torch!” Farid Mukhametshin said.
About 40 people were carrying the Torch in Sviyazhsk. The first person was Honoured Master of Sports in trap shooting, multiple champion of Russia and Europe, the winner of World Cup series, bronze medalist of XXX Olympic Games in London Vasily Mosin.

On 24 April in the Government House of the republic, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin held a joint meeting the Council for Enforcement of Legislation of Languages of Tatarstan and the organizational committee for celebrations of the 140th birthday of Gabdulla Tukay which summarized results of work of the regional law enforcement on official languages of the republic and considered progress of the implementation of the plan of main events for preparation and celebration of the 140th birthday of Gabdulla Tukay .
On 21 April, speaking at a briefing in the Government House of the republic, the Head of the Russian Federal Tax Service for Tatarstan Marat Safiullin said that slightly more than one week is left to file an income tax return for 2025 with the tax service. According to the results of the tax campaign 5.5.bn rubles should come to the regional budget, he said and informed who should submit declarations and who is entitled to benefits.
On 13 April in his congratulatory address on the occasion of the Maecenas and Benefactor Day, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin congratulated residents of the republic with the event and wrote: "Tatarstan has always been known for its generous and kind-hearted people who are ready to help the needy and support important social, cultural and educational projects. We all remember with gratitude the outstanding philanthropists – the Akchurin brothers, the Alafuzovs, and the Ushkovs, whose good deeds and generous donations contributed to the development of culture, education, and healthcare in our republic. The glorious traditions are continued by modern philanthropists and patrons of Tatarstan.
