Additional measures on counteracting illegal gambling discussed at Tatarstan prosecution office

On January 10 Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov held an extended meeting with heads of law enforcement bodies on additional measures on counteracting illegal gambling. Tatarstan Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov, heads and employees of executive authorities, Supreme and Arbitrary courts, law enforcement and supervision bodies, heads of municipalities, and prosecutors from Kazan, Naberezhnye Chelny, Almetievsk took part in the event.
According to participants of the meeting, analysis of the situation in the sphere of state regulation of activity on organisation of gambling games shows that there are many violations in this sphere. Currently, measures on withdrawal of equipment do not make the situation better.
Tatarstan prosecutor Ildus Nafikov said that extensive resources are involved in illegal gambling business. The annual money turnover makes billions of rubles.
Head of the Ministry of the Interior Artem Khokhorin and Chairman of Supreme Court Ilgiz Gilazov made reports at the meeting.
Summing up, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov called for carrying out joint work on prevention of illegal gambling activity, working out a single legal framework and study the international practices.

On 21 April, speaking at a briefing in the Government House of the republic, the Head of the Russian Federal Tax Service for Tatarstan Marat Safiullin said that slightly more than one week is left to file an income tax return for 2025 with the tax service. According to the results of the tax campaign 5.5.bn rubles should come to the regional budget, he said and informed who should submit declarations and who is entitled to benefits.
