Tatarstan President meets with leaders of Russian Muslims

On January 12 Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov met with heads of central religious organisations, who came to Tatarstan to take part in celebrations dated to birthday of Prophet Muhammad. The meeting was held in Bolgar before the main solemn event Mawlid an-Nabi.
Tatarstan State Counsellor Mintimer Shaimiev, Chief of Staff of Tatarstan President’s Office Asgat Safarov, Deputy Chief of Staff of Tatarstan President’s Office – Head of the Department for domestic policy Aleksandr Terentiev, Chairman of the Executive Committee of the World Congress of Tatars Rinat Zakirov, Head of Spassky region Kamil Nugaev, Head of Central Muslim Spiritual Board Talgat Tadzhutdin, Deputy Chairman of the Council of Muftis of Russia Rushan hazrat Abbyasov, Chairman of Tatarstan Muslim Spiritual Board, mufti Kamil Samigullin, rector of Russian Islamic Institute Rafik Mukhametshin took part in the event.
Development of Muslim ummah and interaction between religious organisations were discussed at the meeting.
Rustam Minnikhanov welcomed the guests saying that such a meeting with leaders of Russian Muslims was held in Bolgar for the first time. He also informed that the tourism development programme was worked out and Bolgar would surely be included in it. The President also believes that Bolgar should become an educational centre for Tatars.
Mintimer Shaimiev, in his turn, noted the importance of making approach roads and especially water ways so that tourists could see the unique confluence of the Volga and Kama rivers, and Volga-Kama reservation.
Rushan Abbyasov thanked Tatarstan leadership for organisation of the meeting.
On May 26, speaking at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic held in a videoconference mode with participation of all municipal regions of Tatarstan and focused on events scheduled for June 1, International Children’s Day, as well as the implementation of the “Summer in Tatarstan” programme, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva appealed that parents should closely supervise their children during recreational activities near water in order to prevent accidents.
On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
On 16 May, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with participation of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov reported that the sowing of spring crops is in full swing in the republic with 1m 38 thousand hectares or 61 per cent of the planned have been sown.
On May 14, on the sidelines of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Head of the Federal Service for Accreditation Dmitry Volvach signed an agreement on interaction and cooperation in the development of the halal industry.
