Tatarstan President: "Preparation for Universiade considerably changed Tatarstan transport industry"

On January 28 at a summary session of Tatarstan Ministry of Transport and Roads Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said that employees of the industry performed a large amount of work during World Summer Universiade thus contributing to modernization of the transport industry.
Russian Minister of Transport Maksim Sokolov, Deputy Presidential Envoy in Volga Federal District Galina Izotova took part in the event.
Tatarstan Minister of Transport and Roads Lenar Safin reported on priority tasks to be fulfilled. Speaking about public transport, he suggested creating a complex training system for drivers, and test drivers for knowledge of the Russian language and traffic regulations.
A certification centre is planned to be opened at Kazan technical school of overground and underground transport.
Lenar Safin informed that air passenger traffic increased by 24 per cent in 2013. New international routes from Kazan are currently being worked out.
Speaking about water transport, Lenar Safin offered coming back to interregional passenger river transportations.
Construction of transfer hubs is one of priority projects in railway transport development.
Russian Minister of Transport Maksim Sokolov said that 2013 was an important year for Tatarstan transport industry due to Universiade.
Speaking about new projects, he mentioned construction of high-speed railway line.
Russian Minister of Transport also noted rapid development of air transport services in the republic and in Russia. The Minister believes that a federal programme aimed at supporting regional aviation will give impetus to increase of passenger flow.
Summing up, Rustam Minnikhanov noted a great impact of Universiade on development of Tatarstan transport industry.
Among priority tasks Rustam Minnikhanov pointed out construction of transport corridor “Europe-Western China” and high-speed railway line.
On May 26, speaking at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic held in a videoconference mode with participation of all municipal regions of Tatarstan and focused on events scheduled for June 1, International Children’s Day, as well as the implementation of the “Summer in Tatarstan” programme, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva appealed that parents should closely supervise their children during recreational activities near water in order to prevent accidents.
On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
On 16 May, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with participation of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov reported that the sowing of spring crops is in full swing in the republic with 1m 38 thousand hectares or 61 per cent of the planned have been sown.
On May 14, on the sidelines of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Head of the Federal Service for Accreditation Dmitry Volvach signed an agreement on interaction and cooperation in the development of the halal industry.
