Presidential Envoy in Volga Federal District Mikhail Babich visits production facilities at SEZ “Alabuga”

On January 28 Presidential Envoy in Volga Federal District Mikhail Babich visited special economic zone “Alabuga” (Elabuga minucipal district, Tatarstan). Accompanied by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Mikhail Babich looked around production facilities located in SEZ “Alabuga”, such as “Rokvul Volga”, “Ford Sollers Elabuga” and “Trakya Glass Rus”, which is under construction.
At “Ford Sollers Elabuga” Mikhail Babich was informed that the assembly of Ford Transit of the new generation is expected to be started in the second half of 2014. A presentation of special economic zone was made at administrative business center of SEZ “Alabuga”. Director General of JSC “SEZ PPT “Alabuga” Timur Shagivaleev told why world brands choose this platform to develop their business, about tax privileges and preferences for resident companies and other conditions.
Currently, 41 resident companies have been registered at SEZ “Alabuga”. It is expected that the number of companies will increase to 120 by 2020. The amount of planned investments of the registered residents makes 109 bln rubles and 58 bln rubles have been already invested. As of today, 9 production facilities have been launched at SEZ “Alabuga”, some resident companies will start their activity this year.
SEZ “Alabuga” is among top 40 best economic zones in the world together with Chinese economic zones which have been in business for more than 10 years already”, Timur Shagivaleev said answering Mikhail Babich’s questions.
On May 26, speaking at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic held in a videoconference mode with participation of all municipal regions of Tatarstan and focused on events scheduled for June 1, International Children’s Day, as well as the implementation of the “Summer in Tatarstan” programme, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva appealed that parents should closely supervise their children during recreational activities near water in order to prevent accidents.
On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
On 16 May, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with participation of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov reported that the sowing of spring crops is in full swing in the republic with 1m 38 thousand hectares or 61 per cent of the planned have been sown.
On May 14, on the sidelines of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Head of the Federal Service for Accreditation Dmitry Volvach signed an agreement on interaction and cooperation in the development of the halal industry.
