Rustam Minnikhanov: Mechanisms of private-public partnership are not widely used in the republic yet
1 March 2014, Saturday
On March 1 at a session held by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov members of Tatarstan Investment Committee discussed mechanisms of private-public partnership and investment projects to be implemented in Tatarstan.
“Today we have to attract potential investors using mechanisms of private-public partnership, and we already know good examples of cooperation between government and private business,” Rustam Minnikhanov said.
In particular, he mentioned TANECO and Ammoni projects being implemented at Special Economic Zone “Alabuga”. Rustam Minnikhanov noted that no federal laws regulating private-public partnership activity were passed. In many regions local government has accepted their own legislative acts. Thus, the law on private-public partnership was passed in the Republic of Tatarstan in summer 2011.
Mechanisms of private-public partnership are not widely used in the republic yet, and there is lack of professional staff to work under conditions of private-public partnership, Rustam Minnikhanov summarized.
