Rustam Minnikhanov visits construction objects in Kazan

On April 20 Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov visited construction objects in the historical part of Kazan.

The first object was the former Petzold brewery in Tukai street that was built in 19th century. The agreement on complex reconstruction was signed with ZAO “Edelveis group” in May 2012.

From the end of 20th century, “Krasny vostok” company produced juice and water there. Last reconstruction works were done in 1975. Currently, the investor company, ZAO “Edelveis group” is going to build a beer restaurant, art café, a hotel for 60-70 rooms, and residential buildings on its territory. Rustam Minnikhanov approved the presented project.

Reconstructed buildings No. 85 and 83, the project of reconstruction of Sofa Bakhteev’s House, a cultural heritage site and wooden architectural monument, were presented to Rustam Minnikhanov later on.

The Yunusov square located in Tukai and Fatykh Karim streets will be changed into Islamic garden.

Tatarstan President also inspected the houses No. 11 and 7 in Fatykh Karim street.

As for the Pilgrim’s House located in Kayum Nasyri street, Rustam Minnikhanov suggested finding another colour composition and change facade components.

Chairman of All-Russian Society for the Preservation of Historical and Cultural Monuments in Tatarstan Rafael Khakimov presented the project on fixing boundaries of the city centre and assigning the status of historical settlement to Kazan. Rustam Minnikhanov, in his turn, suggested discussing this issue at a round table with participation of specialists, architects, experts and historians.

Rustam Minnikhanov was accompanied by Aide to Tatarstan President Olesya Baltusova, Aide to Tatarstan President Airat Nurutdinov, Tatarstan Prosecutor Ildus Nafikov, Minister of Construction Irek Faizullin, Minister of Land and Property Azat Khamaev, Deputy Minister of Culture Svetlana Persova, Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin, and Chief Architect of Kazan Tatyana Prokofieva.
