25 April 2014, Friday
On April 25, answering journalists’ questions after a session of the Executive committee of the Consulting council on foreign investments, held at SEZ “Alabuga”, First Deputy of Russian Government Igor Shuvalov and Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov expressed their opinion that Tatarstan leadership carries out a purposeful and systematic work to attract foreign investors in the region and this yields results.
First of all, Igor Shuvalov noted that foreign companies, working in Russia, are not going to leave the country and are interested in developing their businesses here that is confirmed by today’s meeting.
“The companies have been working at the Consulting council on foreign investments for more than 20 years. These are investors, who feel themselves very confident in Russia, and they do a lot of research to help the Russian Government improve the investment climate to provide better living and business growth conditions for these companies and develop the country’s economy in general,” Igor Shuvalov said.
Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov emphasized the need to work hard to attract investors. “Wroking together wtih together with the federal government, we are creating conditions to attract business to the republic. There is a lot of negative information about Russia in the world media, which is totally unjustified. Therefore, we just need to show our own opportunities,” Rustam Minnikhanov pointed out.

Igor Shuvalov supported Tatarstan President. “It was very important for me to meet with residents of the special economic zone today. You know, they are in a very good mood and their expectations from doing business in Russia are quite high,” Igor Shuvalov said.
