Rustam Minnikhanov meets with delegation of Republic of Turkey

On April 25, at his meeting with Turkish delegation, which is taking part in opening of the year “Kazan – cultural capital of Turkic world 2014” at the Kazan Kremlin, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov noted rapidly growing economic partnership between Tatarstan and Turkey.
Rustam Minnikhanov said that today he and First Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov visited two major Turkish enterprises that will be launched soon at SEZ “Alabuga”. “This is just a beginning. We cooperate with many Turkish companies, dealing with automotive components and I believe that we will see a lot of new joint projects in the near future,” Rustam Minnikhanov pointed out.
According to Rustam Minnikhanov, visits of Turkish President Adbulla Gül and Prime Minister Recep Erdogan to Kazan gave the impetus to the development of relations between Tatarstan and Turkey. Many Turkish Ministers and provincial governors visited Kazan. Tatarstan President specially thanked the Consulate General of Republic of Turkey in Kazan for their effective work.
Rustam Minnikhanov continued that cultural contacts, including cooperation within the framework of the TÜRKSOY organisation, are equally important. “We should remember and respect our history and culture,” Tatarstan President said, adding that the TÜRKSOY organisation contributes to the development of the Turkic culture.
Aide to Tatarstan President on international issues Radik Gimatdinov, Tatarstan Minister of Culture Airat Sibgatullin took part in the meeting.
On 9 June upon his arrival to the Kazan International Airport, the Russian Minister for Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov was welcomed by Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin.
In Kazan Sergey Lavrov will take part in a meeting of the Council of Ministers for Foreign Affairs of State-Participants of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO).
On 5 May, speaking at a regular meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic with participation of the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector of the republic Marat Ayzatullin informed that currently 63 school catering units are under repairs with the amount of work completed reaching 15 per cent.
On May 26, speaking at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic held in a videoconference mode with participation of all municipal regions of Tatarstan and focused on events scheduled for June 1, International Children’s Day, as well as the implementation of the “Summer in Tatarstan” programme, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva appealed that parents should closely supervise their children during recreational activities near water in order to prevent accidents.
On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
