On May 20, a solemn closing ceremony of the Second National National Championship WorldSkills Russia was held in Kazan. Tatarstan team won the first place, followed by Moscow team, which took the second place, and team from Sverdlovsk region that won the third place.
President of WorldSkills International Simon Bartley, Tatarstan Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov, WorldSkills International Russian Technical Delegate Pavel Chernykh took part in the event.
To the point, about 450 young professionals from 39 Russia regions and foreign participants from Finland and South Ossetia competed in 35 skill areas at the national championship WorldSkills Russia, which started on May 16. Their skills were assessed by 487 experts, including 27 international experts from Finland, Australia, Canada, Belgium, Switzerland, Germany, Armenia, and Austria. By and large, more than 50,000 people attended the championship.
Simon Bartley said that he was pleased to stay in Russia and Kazan in particular. "I would like to thank WorldSkills Russia, government of Russia, Tatarstan and Kazan for everything they have done to ogranize such a wonderful event. This success would not be possible without the teamwork of experts, event managers and volunteers,” Simon Bartley said.
Ildar Khalikov expressed his hope that participants of the championship enjoyed their stay in the capital of Tatarstan. He also specifically thanked Finnish team, which took part in the championship, and awarded a special certificate for high professionalism and skills demonstrated at the event.
On May 26, speaking at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic held in a videoconference mode with participation of all municipal regions of Tatarstan and focused on events scheduled for June 1, International Children’s Day, as well as the implementation of the “Summer in Tatarstan” programme, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva appealed that parents should closely supervise their children during recreational activities near water in order to prevent accidents.
On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
On 16 May, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with participation of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov reported that the sowing of spring crops is in full swing in the republic with 1m 38 thousand hectares or 61 per cent of the planned have been sown.
On May 14, on the sidelines of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Head of the Federal Service for Accreditation Dmitry Volvach signed an agreement on interaction and cooperation in the development of the halal industry.
