Ildar Khalikov: “We are studying UAE experience in different spheres”

On June 5, participants of the Tatarstan-Emirates business forum that was held within the framework of Kazansummit-2014 discussed development of mutual investment cooperation between Tatarstan and UAE.
Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov, UAE Minister of Economy Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansoori, members of UAE business delegation, took part in the forum.
Ildar Khalikov welcomed participants of the forum on behalf of Tatarstan Government: “UAE is one of the most rapidly developing countries. We are studying your experience in different spheres, such as urban planning, establishment of special economic zones, tourism, and economic development.”
Ildar Khalikov told about Tatarstan economy. He noted that among Tatarstan companies working in UAE KAMAZ is the most popular one. Last year Tatarstan opened a representative office in Dubai.
Ildar Khalikov thanked managers of air companies for direct flights from Kazan to Dubai. He also noted that Tatarstan is an investment-attractive region.
UAE Minister of Economy Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansoori, in his turn, noted high level of relations between Tatarstan and UAE.
Presentations of Tatarstan and UAE investment potential were held during the Tatarstan-Emirates business forum. Participants of the event shared opinions regarding prospects of investment cooperation.
On May 26, speaking at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic held in a videoconference mode with participation of all municipal regions of Tatarstan and focused on events scheduled for June 1, International Children’s Day, as well as the implementation of the “Summer in Tatarstan” programme, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva appealed that parents should closely supervise their children during recreational activities near water in order to prevent accidents.
On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
On 16 May, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with participation of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov reported that the sowing of spring crops is in full swing in the republic with 1m 38 thousand hectares or 61 per cent of the planned have been sown.
On May 14, on the sidelines of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Head of the Federal Service for Accreditation Dmitry Volvach signed an agreement on interaction and cooperation in the development of the halal industry.
