Mintimer Shaimiev meets with representatives of Qatar

On June 6, Tatarstan State Counsellor Mintimer Shaimiev met with Qatar Ambassador to Russia Saud Abdullah Al Mahmoud and Deputy Minister of Economy and Commerce Sultan Al-Khater, who took part in 6th international economic summit of Russia and OIC countries Kazansummit 2014.
The guests shared impressions about the forum and highly estimated organization of the summit, which opens new areas for cooperation between Russia and Qatar.
“This is your personal great contribution, because you laid the basis of our cooperation. And we are glad to see that new leadership continues your work, developing bilateral relations in economic, scientific, and cultural spheres,” the Ambassador said.
Mintimer Shaimiev told guests about his visit to Qatar in 2007 within the framework of the official visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to the Near East.
During the meeting the parties discussed prospects of cooperation, including expansion of contacts in the sphere of culture, education and tourism. The guests told about most famous museum – the Museum of Islamic Art. Mintimer Shaimiev invited them to visit Bolgar and Museum of Bolgar civilization.
Aide to Tatarstan President, CEO of “Revival” Regional Foundation Tatyana Larionova presented the project “Cultural heritage of Tatarstan: the ancient town of Bolgar and island town of Sviyazhsk.”
On 12 January, congratulating employees of the prosecutor’s office with their professional holiday - Day of the employee of the Prosecutor's Office of the Russian Federation- Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin wrote in his address:
“For more than three centuries the prosecutor's office has been the guardian of state and public security as well as constitutional rights and freedoms of citizens of our country.
On 10 January, speaking at a meeting held by Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin in the Government House of the republic with all municipality regions taking part in it via videoconference, the regional Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector Marat Ayzatutllin informed that in the current year the Ministry will take part in implementation of five national projects and three state programmes with planned construction and capital overhaul of 172 facilities for the total sum of 17bn rubles.
On 10 January, speaking at a meeting held by Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin in the Government House of the republic with all municipality regions taking part in it via videoconference, the regional Minister of Agriculture and Food Marat Zyabbarov informed that it is expected to achieve a comparable growth of produce of 1.5%, including that in food production - at least 2.6% in the agricultural sector.
On 4 January Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin, who is the First Deputy Chairman of the Commission of prevention and elimination of emergency situation and ensuring fire safety of the republic, has taken a decision to put into operation the “Buran” (Snow storm) plan in Tatarstan starting from 2 pm on 4 January until the consequences of adverse meteorological events are eliminated by ministries, departments and organizations which ensure the smooth movement of road and rail transport in winter.
