Head of Tatarstan Ministry of Emergency Situations Rafis Khabibullin: Continuous hot weather and lack of rainfall cause concern about fire hazardous situation

On June 6, at a regional meeting at Tatarstan Government House, Head of Tatarstan Ministry for Civil Defence and Emergency Situations Rafis Khabibullin offered introducing an emergency regime in the republic from June 7, 2014 and a special fire preventive regime from June 7 to July 1, 2014 until further orders because of hot and dry weather and fire hazardous season.
Continuous hot weather and lack of rainfall cause concern about fire hazardous situation, Rafis Khabibullin said. He noted as well that the number of registered fires for the period from the beginning of the year has been at the same level as that of 2013, the number of fire victims from the beginning of 2014 is 99 people.
From the beginning of the year, fire brigades have been responding to fires 1446 times (including garbage ignition and forest fires), that is by 60 per cent more than last year.
Cases when two or more houses are burning at the same time became frequent, Rafis Khabibullin said. He asked to pay closer attention to agricultural facilities.
Head of Tatarstan MES told that together with the Ministry of Forestry they are taking measures to prevent forest fires in the republic.
Rustam Minnikhanov said that nowadays we have to take the same measures as in the period of drought in 2010. He also reminded that fires are registered in many regions today, and the situation is very difficult.

On May 26, speaking at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic held in a videoconference mode with participation of all municipal regions of Tatarstan and focused on events scheduled for June 1, International Children’s Day, as well as the implementation of the “Summer in Tatarstan” programme, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva appealed that parents should closely supervise their children during recreational activities near water in order to prevent accidents.
On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
On 16 May, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with participation of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov reported that the sowing of spring crops is in full swing in the republic with 1m 38 thousand hectares or 61 per cent of the planned have been sown.
On May 14, on the sidelines of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Head of the Federal Service for Accreditation Dmitry Volvach signed an agreement on interaction and cooperation in the development of the halal industry.
