Tatarstan President walks around in the historic center of Kazan

On June 12, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin, Aide to Tatarstan President Olesya Baltusova, Minister of Construction Irek Faizullin, and Minister of Culture Airat Sibagatullin visited newly constructed and reconstructed objects in the historic center of Kazan.
The first object they went to was house number 3 in Gabdulla Tukai street, the property of the Spiritual Muslim Department. The building has no historic or architectural value, so specialists recommend building a new house here. Thus, Tatarstan President asked architects to work out new design offers.
Representatives of ASG company reported on results of reconstruction work of several historic buildings in Tukai street, including the new house number 11.
The Galeev Mosque, the architectural monument built in 1798, needs to be reconstructed. It was noted that 23 million roubles were allocated under “Miras” regional programme, however, more money is required. In this regard, Rustam Minnikhanov addressed Head of the Spiritual Muslim Department Kamil Samigullin with request to search for sponsors.
Participants of the event also visited the house of merchant Bigaev in Parizhskaya Komunna street that was reconstructed at the expense of the Ministry of Forestry.
Rustam Minnikhanov was offered to build an administrative and business centre at the corner of Tatarstan and Moskovskaya streets. The President supported the idea.
While visiting a new building number 14 in Tatarstan street , where Gabdulla Tukai spent his last years, Rustam Minnikhanov addressed OAO Tatneft, the building’s owner, and the Ministry of Culture to fit out a memorial room of the great Tatar poet.
The last object visited by Rustam Minnikhanov was the city polyclinic number 5, where Minister of Health Adel Vafin told about reconstruction plans.
On 15 December, speaking at a meeting of the competition committee of the regional public competition “The Manager of the Year” about its results in 2025, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin said that the list of 155 participants (nominees), who are heads of enterprises and organizations from various industries and sectors of the economy, for the competition was formed based on recommendations from regional ministries and departments, city and district municipalities, employers' associations and the Federation of Trade Unions of the republic.
On 6 December speaking at a regional meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic with all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the regional Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector Marat Ayzatullin reported about progress in implementation of the of multi-apartment houses capital overhaul programme.
On 5 December, congratulating volunteers with the International Volunteers Day, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Leyla Fazleeva wrote in her address: “
Your boundless kindness, sincere desire to help others and active civic position deserve special recognition and deep gratitude. There are over 5,000 volunteer associations operating successfully in Tatarstan, with a total membership of over 220,000 caring people of all ages and professions. Every year the contribution of volunteers into public life of the republic becomes more noticeable.
On 4 December Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Shamil Gafarov, who is the Chief of Staff of the Office of the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic, took part in a strategic session on the establishment of an inter-university campus in the republic being held at the Kazan Aircraft University on 4-6 December with participation of more than 100 people and more than 40 experts in politics, economy, science, education and industry from all over Russia.
