Plans on improving transport service in Bolgar and Sviyazhsk discussed at Tatarstan Government House

On June 13, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov held a meeting on improving transport accessibility in the ancient town of Bolgar and island town of Sviyazhsk.
Russian Minister of Transport Maksim Sokolov and Tatarstan State Counsellor Mintimer Shaimiev took part in the meeting.
Opening the meeting, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said that a number of programmes are realized in the republic in cooperation with Russian Ministry of Transport. He noted that improvement of tourist services in Bolgar and Sviyazhsk is one of priority tasks of Tatarstan transport industry.
Tatarstan Minister of Transport Lenar Safin, who took part in the meeting, said that every year 600 big motor ships that pass through Bolgar and Sviyazhsk cannot moor to the riverbanks because of shallow waters. He informed that dredging works are estimated at 220.9 million roubles, though the sum may be reduced to 151 million.
Russian Minister of Transport Maksim Sokolov said that the Federal Marine and River Transport Agency has worked out the issue and dredging works can be started this year.
Head of Tatarstan State Committee on Tourism Sergey Ivanov informed on organization of air excursions to Bolgar. Maksim Sokolov noted that development of air routes is reasonable considering that Kazan is the centre of regional aviation in Volga Federal District.
Speaking about renewal of river fleet, Rustam Minnikhanov asked to make up business plan and decide on types of passenger vessels.
Mintimer Shaimiev called for increasing tourist flow in Bolgar and Sviyazhsk.
On May 26, speaking at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic held in a videoconference mode with participation of all municipal regions of Tatarstan and focused on events scheduled for June 1, International Children’s Day, as well as the implementation of the “Summer in Tatarstan” programme, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva appealed that parents should closely supervise their children during recreational activities near water in order to prevent accidents.
On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
On 16 May, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with participation of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov reported that the sowing of spring crops is in full swing in the republic with 1m 38 thousand hectares or 61 per cent of the planned have been sown.
On May 14, on the sidelines of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Head of the Federal Service for Accreditation Dmitry Volvach signed an agreement on interaction and cooperation in the development of the halal industry.
