Tatarstan President: “Kazan Federal University will hold firm positions in the world educational system in the near future”

On June 16, speaking at a session of the Guardian Council of Kazan Federal University, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said that Kazan (Volga Region) Federal University will hold firm positions in the world educational system in the near future.
Before the session, Rustam Minnikhanov visited Engineering institute and new educational and laboratory campus of the Institute of fundamental medicine and biology of Kazan Federall University. Tatarstan President got acquainted with the work of the medical science center, simulation medicine training center, dental phantom class. He was also shown the academic anatomical museum, where medical products are made using the polymeric embalming method, and Training Center of biomedical microscopy.
Then, the session of the Guardian Council of Kazan Federal University was held at the administrative building of the new educational and laboratory campus.
Opening the session, Rustam Minnikhanov said that he was satisfied with the work done at the University. He reminded that recently, on June 10, he visited the KFU Engineering Center. According to him, more than 20 research laboratories will be established in the republic, with investments making about 200 million roubles.
Almost 450 million roubles were allocated to develop the engineering area at the KFU. “The creation of such educational and laboratory campus will contribute greatly to dealing with the applied tasks," Rustam Minnikhanov said, expressing his hope that the experts of the university will actively cooperate with large enterprises of the republic.
According to the President, the simulation medicine training center is the subject of special pride, because it is a world-class center. "It is the pride not only for Tatarstan, but for our country as well that today we are able to solve the tasks, which seemed to be unachievable only a few years ago. The simulation centers were being created at that time, and now we are a global player and should make every effort so that our developers feel adequate support,” he said.
The university will now train a new generation of specialists of a completely different level, he continued. "Our task is to raise the Kazan Federal University to a competitive, global level. To do this, it is necessary to work hard, and each of us should actively support it. But the most important thing here is the work of the rector’s team. We see major positive changes,” Rustam Minnikhanov said, stressing that solid work was done at the University during a short time.
"I am sure that our university will hold firm positions in the world educational system in the near future. We lacked such research centers. Our major enterprises need your developments, " Head of the republic addressed the KFU management. He also called on the representatives of the university to actively share their experience and cooperate with colleagues from Russia and abroad.
Making a report at the session Rector of the University Ilshat Gafurov thanked the Tatarstan leadership for their appreciation of the work done and support.
Summing up, Rustam Minnikhanov noted that a large amount of work was done. "The tasks that we discussed today are ambitious and we should keep up the rate. We have excellent laboratories, scientists, now we need actual results. We should strive for the result to bring everything to its logical conclusion,” he concluded.
On May 26, speaking at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic held in a videoconference mode with participation of all municipal regions of Tatarstan and focused on events scheduled for June 1, International Children’s Day, as well as the implementation of the “Summer in Tatarstan” programme, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva appealed that parents should closely supervise their children during recreational activities near water in order to prevent accidents.
On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
On 16 May, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with participation of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov reported that the sowing of spring crops is in full swing in the republic with 1m 38 thousand hectares or 61 per cent of the planned have been sown.
On May 14, on the sidelines of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Head of the Federal Service for Accreditation Dmitry Volvach signed an agreement on interaction and cooperation in the development of the halal industry.
