Rustam Minnikhanov: Tatarstan and China cooperate in many spheres

On June 18, Memorandum of understanding was signed between OAO “Nizhnekamskneftekhim” and CNCEC (China National Chemical Engineering Corporation) at the Kazan Kremlin.
Ambassador of People's Republic of China to Russia Li Huei and Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in the event.
Welcoming the guests, Rustam Minnikhanov said he appreciates given opportunities for developing cooperation between Tatarstan and China within the framework of Russia-China friendly relations, and thanked Chinese Embassy for supporting joint projects and initiatives, and help in organization of the April visit of Tatarstan delegation.
Tatarstan President reminded that he visited several Chinese provinces, took part in presentation of Tatarstan economic potential at the Russian Embassy in Beijing. Rustam Minnikhanov also visited China with the Russian delegation and took part in negotiations at the highest level in May.
Representatives of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation are going to visit Tatarstan in June. Participants of the 5th international meeting of high representatives supervising safety issues arrived in Kazan today (the event will be held on June 19, Korston hotel & mall).
Rustam Minnikhanov continued that today Tatarstan and China cooperate in many spheres, from business contacts with major industrial enterprises to interaction with Chinese provinces. China technical and economic development zone in Harbin cooperates with Alabuga economic development zone.
Confucius institute is successfully working at Kazan Federal University, 230 Chinese students study at Kazan universities.
Tatarstan President suggested developing cooperation in the sphere of tourism.
According to Rustam Minnikhanov, Tatarstan is going to open the representative office in Beijing, and launch direct flights between Kazan and some Chinese cities.
“We should attract Chinese investors for implementation of projects in Tatarstan, and provide certain conditions, we are actively discussing these issues,” Rustam Minnikhanov continued.
The President noted that China National Chemical Engineering Corporation is efficiently working in Tatarstan.
Ambassador of People's Republic of China to Russia Li Huei, in his turn, said that Russia-China relations now are experiencing the best time ever, and China is doing its best to realize all arrangement reached during the visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to China.
We are doing a lot for strengthening interregional cooperation, and we already see results, Li Huei said.Tatarstan is one of the most important partners of China, he added. He offered organizing presentation of Tatarstan economic and investment potential for Chinese businessmen at Chinese Embassy in Moscow.
The Ambassador invited Tatarstan representatives to take part in the exhibition EXPO “China-Eurasia” organized by Chinese Government (September 1-6, Ürümqi).

On 15 December, speaking at a meeting of the competition committee of the regional public competition “The Manager of the Year” about its results in 2025, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin said that the list of 155 participants (nominees), who are heads of enterprises and organizations from various industries and sectors of the economy, for the competition was formed based on recommendations from regional ministries and departments, city and district municipalities, employers' associations and the Federation of Trade Unions of the republic.
On 6 December speaking at a regional meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic with all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the regional Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector Marat Ayzatullin reported about progress in implementation of the of multi-apartment houses capital overhaul programme.
On 5 December, congratulating volunteers with the International Volunteers Day, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Leyla Fazleeva wrote in her address: “
Your boundless kindness, sincere desire to help others and active civic position deserve special recognition and deep gratitude. There are over 5,000 volunteer associations operating successfully in Tatarstan, with a total membership of over 220,000 caring people of all ages and professions. Every year the contribution of volunteers into public life of the republic becomes more noticeable.
On 4 December Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Shamil Gafarov, who is the Chief of Staff of the Office of the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic, took part in a strategic session on the establishment of an inter-university campus in the republic being held at the Kazan Aircraft University on 4-6 December with participation of more than 100 people and more than 40 experts in politics, economy, science, education and industry from all over Russia.
