Secretary of Central Politics and Law Commission of the Communist Party of China Mèng Jiànzhù arrives in Kazan on a working visit

On June 18, Secretary of Central Politics and Law Commission of the Communist Party of China Mèng Jiànzhù, who arrived in Kazan to take part in the 5th international meeting of high representatives supervising security issues (June 19, Korston hotel & mall), was met by Tatarstan Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov, First Deputy Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and other officials at Kazan international airport.

The 5th international meeting of high representatives supervising security issues is organized by the Security Council of Russia in accordance with the Presidential order. 

The main issues of the upcoming meeting’s agenda are the fight against the global drug threat and international cooperation in counteracting the use of illegal migration by transnational criminal groups. The possible risks associated with the introduction of scientific achievements in the field of synthetic biology will be also discussed at the meeting.

Secretaries of Security Councils, Aides to presidents and prime ministers on national security, ministers, heads of special services and other high representatives from different countries, and international organizations of the UN system took part in previous meetings in Sochi, Yekaterinburg, St. Petersburg and Vladivostok
. The meetings have been held since 2010.
