Construction of logistics post centre started in Kazan

On June 27, Russian Minister of Communication and Mass Media Nikolai Nikiforov, Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov, Tatarstan Minister of Information and Communication Roman Shaikhutdinov, and Director General of Federal State Unitary Enterprise “Russian post” Dmitry Strashnov took part in solemn foundation stone laying ceremony of Kazan logistics post centre at Kazan international airport.
“Russian post” chose Kazan for building logistics post centre as it is the biggest transport hub in Volga Federal District. Creation of regional logistics post centre will help optimizing the process of sorting and processing of post items for Tatarstan, Mari El, Chuvashia, Udmurtia, Ulyanovsk and Samara regions. More than 1 million post items will be processed here daily. The centre will help reducing terms of delivery for a few days.
Russian Minister of Communication and Mass Media Nikolai Nikiforov said that creation of logistics post centres is a part of new development strategy of Federal State Unitary Enterprise “Russian post”.
“It was a difficult scientific work to estimate accessibility of transport infrastructure, flight and railway communication, availability of roads. I am proud to announce that Kazan has become one of seven big centres, along with Moscow, St.Petersburg, Rostov-on-Don, Ekaterinburg, Novosibirsk and Khabarovsk,” the minister said. He thanked regional government and administration of Laishevo region for immediate solution of problems so that the project can be realized in the shortest time.
Ildar Khalikov thanked leadership of Russian Ministry of Communication and Mass Media and Federal State Unitary Enterprise “Russian post” for choosing Kazan for location one of seven logistics centres.
Dmitry Strashnov noted that Kazan became the third place after Moscow and St.Petersburg where the logistics centre will be built. He added that it would be a post logistics factory for processing parcels and post items.
Kazan logistics post centre will be put into operation in the third quarter of 2015. Total amount of investments is 2.4 billion roubles. Implementation of this project will provide 800 new jobs and favour development of Kazan international airport.
On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
On 16 May, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with participation of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov reported that the sowing of spring crops is in full swing in the republic with 1m 38 thousand hectares or 61 per cent of the planned have been sown.
On May 14, on the sidelines of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Head of the Federal Service for Accreditation Dmitry Volvach signed an agreement on interaction and cooperation in the development of the halal industry.
On May 14, Prime Minister of Tajikistan Kokhir Rasulzoda, who arrived on a working visit in Kazan to take part in the events of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, was met by Prime Minister of the republic Aleksey Pesoshin and other officials at the Kazan International Airport.
