Issues of energy saving discussed at session of Economic council under Tatarstan Cabinet of Ministers

On July 2, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov held a session of the Economic council under Tatarstan Cabinet of Ministers on issues of energy saving.
Opening the session, Rustam Minnikhanov said that energy industry is the main economic sector today, and major work is done in the republic on modernization of energy facilities. However, the urgent problem is equipment depreciation. There are four power and heat producers in Tatarstan, - OAO “Generation company”, “TGK-16”, Nizhnekamsk power station, and URUSSU state power station.
Rustam Minnikhanov said that in 2013, regional energy sector provided safe and reliable power supply. Workers of energy industry also fulfilled all tasks during preparation for summer Universiade 2013.
Generation companies produced 22.4 billion kWh of power in 2013. It is expected that energy consumption will increase by 1.8 per cent in 2014.
“We need major investments and changes in the industry. It will help elimination deficit of power and contain increase in tariffs,” the President said.
Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Damir Safiullin reported on safety and reliability of power supply in Tatarstan. Director General of OAO “Grid Company” Ilshat Fardiev, in his turn, told about the current situation.

On 15 December, speaking at a meeting of the competition committee of the regional public competition “The Manager of the Year” about its results in 2025, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin said that the list of 155 participants (nominees), who are heads of enterprises and organizations from various industries and sectors of the economy, for the competition was formed based on recommendations from regional ministries and departments, city and district municipalities, employers' associations and the Federation of Trade Unions of the republic.
On 6 December speaking at a regional meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic with all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the regional Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector Marat Ayzatullin reported about progress in implementation of the of multi-apartment houses capital overhaul programme.
On 5 December, congratulating volunteers with the International Volunteers Day, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Leyla Fazleeva wrote in her address: “
Your boundless kindness, sincere desire to help others and active civic position deserve special recognition and deep gratitude. There are over 5,000 volunteer associations operating successfully in Tatarstan, with a total membership of over 220,000 caring people of all ages and professions. Every year the contribution of volunteers into public life of the republic becomes more noticeable.
On 4 December Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Shamil Gafarov, who is the Chief of Staff of the Office of the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic, took part in a strategic session on the establishment of an inter-university campus in the republic being held at the Kazan Aircraft University on 4-6 December with participation of more than 100 people and more than 40 experts in politics, economy, science, education and industry from all over Russia.
