Tatarstan President meets with winners of International Mathematical Olympiad

Two students from Tatarstan, Nikita Chernega and Aleksei Volostnov, who finished 122nd upper secondary school this year, have won gold and silver medals at International Mathematical Olympiad in Capetown. By and large, 560 students from 101 countries took part in 55th International Mathematical Olympiad.
Russian students won three gold and three silver medals.
For the last few years Kazan champions have attended mathematical group, stayed in field-specific and training camps, taken part in Russian and international competitions.
Tatarstan President congratulated the winners on such an important achievement in their life and wished to keep going.
Having learnt that Nikita Chernega and Aleksei Volostnov study at Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, Rustam Minnikhanov supported their decision, saying that it is one of the best higher educational institutions in Russia, and many famous talented people studied there.
However, the President said the boys are welcome in Tatarstan after graduation, since there are lots of opportunities for self-realization in the sphere of mathematics now, and there will be even more in Innopolis.
Rustam Minnikhanov addressed Minister of Education and Science with request to stay in touch with the guys and help them in education by sending for internships and allocating scholarships.
Tatarstan President also asked to pay attention to other graduates of 122nd upper secondary school, support teachers and supervisors, who educate future champions and winners.
On May 26, speaking at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic held in a videoconference mode with participation of all municipal regions of Tatarstan and focused on events scheduled for June 1, International Children’s Day, as well as the implementation of the “Summer in Tatarstan” programme, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva appealed that parents should closely supervise their children during recreational activities near water in order to prevent accidents.
On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
On 16 May, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with participation of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov reported that the sowing of spring crops is in full swing in the republic with 1m 38 thousand hectares or 61 per cent of the planned have been sown.
On May 14, on the sidelines of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Head of the Federal Service for Accreditation Dmitry Volvach signed an agreement on interaction and cooperation in the development of the halal industry.
