Tatarstan President takes part in All-Russia meeting on rendering aid to Ukrainian refugees

On July 22, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in All-Russia video conference meeting held by Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev on providing accommodation ans social conditions to people, who have been forced to leave Ukraine.
Opening the meeting, Dmitry Medvedev said that around 144,000 refugees from Ukraine turned to Russia’s Federal Migration Service for a status that does not include a work permit.
The Prime Minister thanked everybody helping refugees from the South-Eastern regions of Ukraine through hard times, from ordinary citizens to ministers.
Medvedev said that currently about 400 stationary points of temporary accommodation have been arranged in Russia, providing housing for 26,000 people, including 10,000 children.
The Russian government has already made budget transfers to several regions in the country for accommodation of Ukrainian refugees at temporary centers. In particular, 240 million roubles have been allocated to accommodate refugees at temporary centers in Rostov region.
By and large, Russia’s government has provided 4.94 billion roubles to solve Ukrainian refugee problems, Medvedev said.
The term to apply for refugee status in Russia has been reduced to three days, Dmitry Medvedev said. Russia’s government has also adopted a resolution to increase the quotas for the Russian regions for issuing residence permits to foreign citizens by 53.5 per cent.
Head of Federal Migration Service Konstantin Romodanovsky reported in detail about the situation with refugees from the South-Eastern Ukraine, saying that the service he headed expected the number of refugees to grow to 100 thousand.
On 15 December, speaking at a meeting of the competition committee of the regional public competition “The Manager of the Year” about its results in 2025, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin said that the list of 155 participants (nominees), who are heads of enterprises and organizations from various industries and sectors of the economy, for the competition was formed based on recommendations from regional ministries and departments, city and district municipalities, employers' associations and the Federation of Trade Unions of the republic.
On 6 December speaking at a regional meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic with all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the regional Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector Marat Ayzatullin reported about progress in implementation of the of multi-apartment houses capital overhaul programme.
On 5 December, congratulating volunteers with the International Volunteers Day, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Leyla Fazleeva wrote in her address: “
Your boundless kindness, sincere desire to help others and active civic position deserve special recognition and deep gratitude. There are over 5,000 volunteer associations operating successfully in Tatarstan, with a total membership of over 220,000 caring people of all ages and professions. Every year the contribution of volunteers into public life of the republic becomes more noticeable.
On 4 December Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Shamil Gafarov, who is the Chief of Staff of the Office of the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic, took part in a strategic session on the establishment of an inter-university campus in the republic being held at the Kazan Aircraft University on 4-6 December with participation of more than 100 people and more than 40 experts in politics, economy, science, education and industry from all over Russia.
