Igor Shuvalov answers questions of students – participants of international educational forum “Summer campus of the Presidential Academy”

On July 25, First Deputy Chairman of Russian Government Igor Shuvalov, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, rector of the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration Vladimir Mau, and participants of the international educational forum “Summer campus of the Presidential Academy” discussed problems of modern education, development of Russian economy, and ways of economic crisis recovery.
To the point, the meeting of best students from 21 Russian regions, half of which represent the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration and its branches, is being held at ski sports complex “Kazan”. By and large, 250 people including 30 foreign students arrived in Kazan.
It is the third summer campus of the Presidential Academy and Igor Shuvalov noted that Tatarstan may become a traditional place for holding this international educational forum.
Rustam Minnikhanov said that when the Innopolis innovative satellite town is established, holding of winter campus of the Presidential Academy will be possible.
“Innopolis is a town of the future, with new IT university and best people working here. Summer campus and work with young people is a good opportunity to attract them here. We hope that the tradition to hold events of the Presidential Academy will be continued,” Rustam Minnikhanov said.
Vladimir Mau thanked Tatarstan President for the opportunity to hold events in Kazan.
On 8 May, speaking at a meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic with participation of the Acting Chairman of the State Council of the republic Marat Akhmetov and the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin, the Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector of the republic Marat Ayzatullin reported that capital overhaul of social facilities is in full swing in the republic with 170 educational facilities having been included into regional and federal programmes.
On 4 May at a briefing held in the Tatarstan Government House it was told that currently there are 92 combat veterans, the last witnesses of the Great Patriotic War (WW II) of 1941-1945, living in the republic. The briefing also informed about veterans’ support measures and how the republic is planning to celebrate the Victory Day on 9 May.
The Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva told that names of 353 Heroes of the Soviet Union from Tatarstan “ are immortalized in street names, on memorials, in monuments and squares and, of course, in our memory”. “The Victory Day is the day of memory, mourning and joy. It is the event which today should be clearly understandable to all young people and younger generation of Tatarstan,” she said.

On 24 April in the Government House of the republic, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin held a joint meeting the Council for Enforcement of Legislation of Languages of Tatarstan and the organizational committee for celebrations of the 140th birthday of Gabdulla Tukay which summarized results of work of the regional law enforcement on official languages of the republic and considered progress of the implementation of the plan of main events for preparation and celebration of the 140th birthday of Gabdulla Tukay .
