6 August 2014, Wednesday
On August 6, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov stated that measures taken by law enforcement agencies before and during the match between Rubin and Spartak were aimed at ensuring the safety of spectators in the stadium and maintaining order on the streets of Kazan and were strictly within the law.

He noted that Tatarstan Ministry of Interior followed the decisions taken during weekly meetings of the Coordination Council of Regional Law Enforcement Agencies, chaired by Tatarstan President.
