Rustam Minnikhanov holds session of the organizing committee on holding XVI World Aquatics Championship “Masters”

On August 7, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov held a session of the organizing committee on holding XVI World Aquatics Championship “Masters” at Tatarstan Government House. Tatarstan Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov took part in the session.
“One year is left till this international event, and we should hold it on a high level,” Rustam Minnikhanov said. He noted that Tatarstan has got wide experience in holding such sports events, and this work requires a systemic approach.
The President reminded participants of the meeting that the World Aquatics Championship is a serious sports event and more sportsmen are expected to come than it was during Summer Universiade 2013.
There are 13 working groups on preparation for XVI World Aquatics Championship 2015 and World Aquatics Championship “Masters”.
Telling about preparation for the events, Head of ANO “Executive office of sports projects” Azat Kadyrov said that they will be held on July 24-August 9, and August 5-16.
Winners of the Olympic Games, world and continental championships (5-6 thousand sportsmen from 100-110 countries) will take part in World Aquatics Championship “Masters”.
Tatarstan Minister of Construction, Architecture, Housing and Utilities Services Irek Faizullin reported on preparation of sports objects for the championship and Head of Kazan Executive Committee Denis Kalinkin told participants of the meeting about accommodation and catering services to be provided.

On 8 May, speaking at a meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic with participation of the Acting Chairman of the State Council of the republic Marat Akhmetov and the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin, the Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector of the republic Marat Ayzatullin reported that capital overhaul of social facilities is in full swing in the republic with 170 educational facilities having been included into regional and federal programmes.
On 4 May at a briefing held in the Tatarstan Government House it was told that currently there are 92 combat veterans, the last witnesses of the Great Patriotic War (WW II) of 1941-1945, living in the republic. The briefing also informed about veterans’ support measures and how the republic is planning to celebrate the Victory Day on 9 May.
The Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva told that names of 353 Heroes of the Soviet Union from Tatarstan “ are immortalized in street names, on memorials, in monuments and squares and, of course, in our memory”. “The Victory Day is the day of memory, mourning and joy. It is the event which today should be clearly understandable to all young people and younger generation of Tatarstan,” she said.

On 24 April in the Government House of the republic, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin held a joint meeting the Council for Enforcement of Legislation of Languages of Tatarstan and the organizational committee for celebrations of the 140th birthday of Gabdulla Tukay which summarized results of work of the regional law enforcement on official languages of the republic and considered progress of the implementation of the plan of main events for preparation and celebration of the 140th birthday of Gabdulla Tukay .
