Mintimer Shaimiev thanks Sabri Tunc Angili for successful work in Tatarstan

On August 15, Tatarstan State Counsellor Mintimer Shaimiev met with Consul-General of the Republic of Turkey in Kazan Sabri Tunc Angili, who is completing his work in Tatarstan and coming back to Ankara to work at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkey.
Sabri Tunc Angili has been the ninth consul general since the opening of the Consulate General of the Republic of Turkey in Kazan in 1996.
At the beginning, Mintimer Shaimiev appreciated that Turkey established the Consulate General of Turkey in Kazan. "We are glad that our relations are actively developing,” he said.
Tatarstan State Counsellor congratulated Sabri Tunc Angili on a historical event, Turkey's first-ever direct presidential election, and asked to convey his congratulations to the popularly-elected President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Mintimer Shaimiev thanked Sabri Tunc Angili for his successful work done in Tatarstan and great personal contribution to the development of Russia-Turkey relations and wished him success in his further diplomatic activity.
Turkey's Consul General stressed that Tatarstan and its leadership play a major role in good relations established between Turkey and Russia, strengthening the comprehensive cooperation between the two countries.
He thanked the First Tatarstan President for the support of his activities, and active participation in the development of cultural relations between the Tatar and Turkish peoples. Sabri Tunch Angyly said that he admired Shaimiev’s activity on reviving the historical heritage of Tatarstan and congratulated him on the inclusion of the Bolgar historical and archaeological complex in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
On 8 May, speaking at a meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic with participation of the Acting Chairman of the State Council of the republic Marat Akhmetov and the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin, the Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector of the republic Marat Ayzatullin reported that capital overhaul of social facilities is in full swing in the republic with 170 educational facilities having been included into regional and federal programmes.
On 4 May at a briefing held in the Tatarstan Government House it was told that currently there are 92 combat veterans, the last witnesses of the Great Patriotic War (WW II) of 1941-1945, living in the republic. The briefing also informed about veterans’ support measures and how the republic is planning to celebrate the Victory Day on 9 May.
The Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva told that names of 353 Heroes of the Soviet Union from Tatarstan “ are immortalized in street names, on memorials, in monuments and squares and, of course, in our memory”. “The Victory Day is the day of memory, mourning and joy. It is the event which today should be clearly understandable to all young people and younger generation of Tatarstan,” she said.

On 24 April in the Government House of the republic, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin held a joint meeting the Council for Enforcement of Legislation of Languages of Tatarstan and the organizational committee for celebrations of the 140th birthday of Gabdulla Tukay which summarized results of work of the regional law enforcement on official languages of the republic and considered progress of the implementation of the plan of main events for preparation and celebration of the 140th birthday of Gabdulla Tukay .
