On August 29, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Tatarstan Minister of Industry and Trade Ravil Zaripov, Head of Elabuga region Gennady Emelyanov, and Mayor of Naberezhnye Chelny Vasil Shaikhraziev took part in solemn launching of new stamping production “Coşkunöz” at the Special Economic Zone “Alabuga” (SEZ “Alabuga”).
Big and small metal auto body parts for Ford Sollers plant that is located nearby will be produced at the plant. The agreement about launching the production was signed in October 2012 in Bursa. It was noted that the sum of investments made 70 million dollars, and 40, 000 tonnes of steel will be processed at the plant.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Rustam Minnikhanov said that he took part in inauguration of new President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan on August 28.
Rustam Minnikhanov noted that the automotive cluster is being formed at SEZ “Alabuga”, with Ford Sollers being the main enterprise.
Tatarstan President thanked Coşkunöz company for credence given to the republic. He also expressed his gratitude to the leadership of Turkey saying that the visits of Abdullah Gul and Recep Tayyip Erdogan gave a start to real efficient cooperation.
Rustam Minnikhanov also noted that Turkish investors are going to open five more large plants in Tatarstan in the nearest six months.
Also, the President thanked Consul General of the Republic of Turkey in Kazan Sabri Tunc Angili, who is finishing his work in Tatarstan.
Summing up, Tatarstan President expressed his hope that new manufacturers of automotive components will start working at SEZ “Alabuga” soon.
Ford Sollers Director General Ted Cannis, in his turn, said it is a very important event for the company.
On May 26, speaking at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic held in a videoconference mode with participation of all municipal regions of Tatarstan and focused on events scheduled for June 1, International Children’s Day, as well as the implementation of the “Summer in Tatarstan” programme, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva appealed that parents should closely supervise their children during recreational activities near water in order to prevent accidents.
On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
On 16 May, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with participation of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov reported that the sowing of spring crops is in full swing in the republic with 1m 38 thousand hectares or 61 per cent of the planned have been sown.
On May 14, on the sidelines of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Head of the Federal Service for Accreditation Dmitry Volvach signed an agreement on interaction and cooperation in the development of the halal industry.
