29 August 2014, Friday
Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov congratulated Tatarstan citizens on the Republic Day:
“Dear Tatarstan citizens! On behalf of Tatarstan State Council, Tatarstan Government and personally I congratulate you on the Republic Day!
We are celebrating our main holiday in stability and confidence in future that is based on high level of social and economic development of the republic, and successful realization of major innovative projects.
The powerful start in economy enables creating new living standards. It concerns social security, environmental improvement, spiritual and physical recreation of people, new level of education, civic consciousness and patriotism. Multiple civic institutions and authoritative public activists play ever increasing role in it.
The Year of culture, inclusion of Bolgar in UNESCO World Heritage List pay our attention to the origins of our spirituality, modern meaning of historical traditions. Achievements in social and economic, spiritual and cultural development are connected with public and political stability, unity of actions of all branches and levels of government. President, Government and Parliament, and our municipal authorities work as one team.
At the same time, we welcome political diversity. Development of party system is the evidence of civil maturity of Tatarstan citizens, and is a serious political school.
It is important that the level of mutual understanding between regional branches of political parties is high as far as most strategic issues of public development are concerned. This fact brings favourable atmosphere within the framework of election campaign of deputies of Tatarstan State Council.
The regional leadership completely supports the policy of Russian Government in terms of consolidation of independence and firm upholding of interests of our country. Reunion of Crimea and Sevastopol with Russia opened a new page in contemporary history of the Motherland. Tatarstan took an active part in rendering overall support to new subjects of the federation. Special attention is paid to Bakhchisarai region of Crimea with which we have common historical and cultural heritage. Measures to support Ukrainian refugees, who had to leave the territory of Southeastern Ukraine, are being taken.
Dear friends!
There are lots of changes taking place in our life. We are glad at good changes and stand together in hard times. Let us take good care of each other, keep and enrich best national traditions, peace and consent on our land.
I thank you all for your diligence and belief in better future. I wish you strong health, happiness and wellbeing.
Congratulations on the Republic Day!”
