Rustam Minnikhanov at the meeting with Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Russia: Germany is the leading foreign economic partner of Tatarstan

On September 2, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov held a meeting with Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Russia Rüdiger von Fritsch at the Kazan Kremlin, who arrived in Kazan to take part in opening of German-Russian Institute of New Technologies.
Welcoming Mr Rüdiger von Fritsch, Rustam Minnikhanov said that as one of Russian regions Tatarstan closely cooperates with Germany in many economic sectors.
The President briefly told about economic and industrial potential of Tatarstan and development of main sectors – petrochemistry, engineering, and agricultural industry. “Germany is the leading foreign economic partner of the republic, we cooperate in the sphere of high-tech equipment and engineering,” he added. By and large, there are 90 enterprises involving German business in Tatarstan.
According to Rustam Minnikhanov, the prospective areas of cooperation are energy sector, medicine, science and education.
“We put high hopes on the project of German-Russian Institute of New Technologies, it will give students a great opportunity to obtain education in the sphere of technologies that is in high demand in Russia,” the President noted.
Tatarstan President also expressed his gratitude for warm reception during his last trip to Germany in autumn of 2013, when Tatarstan delegation visited many industrial enterprises, took part in the exhibition and held business negotiations.
The German Ambassador, in his turn, highly estimated cooperation with Tatarstan as one of Russian regions: “We have long-term strong economic relations. Students, who will study at German-Russian Institute of New Technologies, will help to strengthen business contacts and establish new partnership relations.”
During the meeting, members of German business delegation made proposals regarding cooperation with the Republic of Tatarstan in the sphere of medicine, creation of engineering automotive centre, education and research spheres.

On May 26, speaking at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic held in a videoconference mode with participation of all municipal regions of Tatarstan and focused on events scheduled for June 1, International Children’s Day, as well as the implementation of the “Summer in Tatarstan” programme, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva appealed that parents should closely supervise their children during recreational activities near water in order to prevent accidents.
On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
On 16 May, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with participation of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov reported that the sowing of spring crops is in full swing in the republic with 1m 38 thousand hectares or 61 per cent of the planned have been sown.
On May 14, on the sidelines of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Head of the Federal Service for Accreditation Dmitry Volvach signed an agreement on interaction and cooperation in the development of the halal industry.
