Tatarstan Prime Minister visits Kazan synthetic rubber plant

On September 4, at his meeting with workers of Kazan synthetic rubber plant Tatarstan Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov said that petrochemical and chemical industries in the republic are developing.

“In spite of general deterioration in economic situation in Russia, we are still working stably, because we have powerful oil companies in Tatarstan, such as OAO “Tatneft” and small oil companies.

Moreover, we have a powerful petrochemical industry, represented by OOO “Nizhnekamskneftekhim”, OAO “Kazanorgsintez” and other companies. He noted that Tatarstan petrochemical industry has been developing during the last few years, and new enterprises such as OAO “TANECO” are opening. Enterprises opened in Special Economic Zone “Alabuga” and “Himgrad” technopolis are successfully working.

Ildar Khalikov also mentioned development of Tatarstan infrastructure due to Universiade. He continued that several programmes on construction of sports grounds, kindergartens, repair of rural roads and housing construction are implemented in the republic.

Director General of Kazan synthetic rubber plant Aleksey Konturov, who was present at the meeting, said that the output of industrial products made 1.9 billion roubles and sales volume amounted to more than 1.6 billion roubles in 2013. The profit made 128.1 million roubles. He also noted that 160 items for 5, 000 customers in Russia and abroad are produced at the plant.
