Rustam Minnikhanov: “Many projects implemented in Elabuga suggest serious prospects of the region”

On September 5, at his meeting with administration of Elabuga region, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said that the region is very prospective and is one of the most important industrial and educational centres in Tatarstan.
Making report on social and economic development of the region, Head of Elabuga region Gennady Emelyanov said that the industrial production index made 147 per cent in 2013, and gross regional product increased by 6.6 per cent. By results of six months of 2014, the region was ranked first by the volume of direct investments per capita that makes 202, 000 roubles.
About 4.5 thousand residents of the region work in Special Economic Zone “Alabuga”.
As for agricultural sector, 8,250 hectares of unused farm lands are now being cultivated.
Rustam Minnikhanov said he was very impressed by visiting new international school and resource engineering centre, and noted that SEZ “Alabuga” with 42 registered residents and 105 billion roubles of claimed investments is now the most successful economic zone in Russia. According to Rustam Minnikhanov, four new plants will open in SEZ “Alabuga” till the end of the year.
“Kama industrial hub is our economic growth point, and Elabuga plays a significant role in it. Many projects implemented in Elabuga suggest serious prospects of the region” Rustam Minnikhanov said.
On May 26, speaking at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic held in a videoconference mode with participation of all municipal regions of Tatarstan and focused on events scheduled for June 1, International Children’s Day, as well as the implementation of the “Summer in Tatarstan” programme, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva appealed that parents should closely supervise their children during recreational activities near water in order to prevent accidents.
On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
On 16 May, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with participation of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov reported that the sowing of spring crops is in full swing in the republic with 1m 38 thousand hectares or 61 per cent of the planned have been sown.
On May 14, on the sidelines of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Head of the Federal Service for Accreditation Dmitry Volvach signed an agreement on interaction and cooperation in the development of the halal industry.
