Tatarstan President meets representatives of youth and student community of Tatarstan

On September 11, at the Institute of Philology and Arts of the Kazan Federal University, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov had a meeting with winners of federal and district contests, activists of youth public organizations.

Tatarstan President said that such meetings should be held not only before the upcoming elections to the State Council of Tatarstan.

According to Tatarstan President, the prosperity of the country was in powerful regions and competitive industry. “To be powerful, it is necessary to be self-sufficient. This requires strong economy, which, in turn, is impossible without human capital. Therefore, young people, including those who are present here, are our future,” he said.

He also noted the importance of the high school, which is to reveal leadership abilities in young people and provide knowledge and skills that will enable them to be competitive.

Rustam Minnikhanov noted that the republic is one of the leading regions in the country, and it is important to move forward. He told participants of the meeting about social and economic development of the republic, promising industries and areas, including the IT cluster in particular. Minnikhanov stressed that despite the tense political situation, it is important to continue educational programmes such as "Algarysh." He reminded that the German-Russian Institute of Advanced Technologies opened in Kazan recently.

According to Minnikhanov, another important task is to maintain the stability in the republic and positions it takes, as well as ensure the quality of life of the people.

Participants of the meeting had an opportunity to ask Tatarstan President their questions. The topics that were touched upon were construction of Innopolis, international cooperation in the field of education, development of technoparks, etc.

Summing up, Rustam Minnikhanov noted that such meetings help to know the mood and concerns of the young people and what matters should be given attention.
