Rustam Minnikhanov: We should consolidate efforts to support our commodity producers

On September 12, at a session of the Economic Council under Tatarstan Cabinet of Ministers on promoting domestic producers, was broadcast online on the website of Tatarstan Government, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said: “We should consolidate our efforts to support our commodity producers”.
Opening the session, Rustam Minnikhanov said that in the morning Cabinet of Ministers considered the forecast of the social and economic development of the Republic of Tatarstan for 2015 and planned period of 2016 and 2017 and consolidated budget statement of the Republic of Tatarstan for 2015 and planned period of 2016 and 2017.
He noted that current economic situation in the world may impede further economic development.
According to results of January-June 2014, export of goods has decreased, and import increased by 10 per cent. About 160 billion roubles of goods were imported from abroad in 2013.
The President stated that today we are facing difficult times because of international situation and sanctions being imposed against Russia. However, it opens new opportunities for import substitution.
The analysis of the situation and measures that can be taken to help producers maintaining their positions and entering new markets will be presented at the next session of Tatarstan State Council.
According to Rustam Minnikhanov, TAIF production and investment company, Tatneft oil company, Kazan helicopters plant, KAMAZ automobile corporation, Zelenodolsk Gorky plant and Ministry of Agriculture and Food should present to the Russian Government their proposals on providing favourable conditions for local producers.
Rustam Minnikhanov continued that today big distribution networks do not always understand the federal issue, which consists in promotion of domestic producers.
Making report at the session, Minister of Economy of the republic Midkhat Shagiakhmetov noted high degree of uncertainty in global economy and that the country has reached the negative stage of economic development.
Midkhat Shagiakhmetov reminded participants of the session that Russian Government imposed the embargo on some food products imported from U.S. and EU, which offers opportunities for import substitution.

On May 26, speaking at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic held in a videoconference mode with participation of all municipal regions of Tatarstan and focused on events scheduled for June 1, International Children’s Day, as well as the implementation of the “Summer in Tatarstan” programme, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva appealed that parents should closely supervise their children during recreational activities near water in order to prevent accidents.
On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
On 16 May, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with participation of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov reported that the sowing of spring crops is in full swing in the republic with 1m 38 thousand hectares or 61 per cent of the planned have been sown.
On May 14, on the sidelines of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Head of the Federal Service for Accreditation Dmitry Volvach signed an agreement on interaction and cooperation in the development of the halal industry.
