Tatar holiday Sabantui massively celebrated in Astana

On September 20, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Akim of Astana Imangali Tasmagambetov, Ambassador of Russia to Kazakhstan Mikhail Bocharnikov, Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin took part in Tatar national holiday Sabantui that was massively celebrated in Astana within the framework of Days of the Republic of Tatarstan in Kazakhstan.
The celebrations took place near Khan Shatyr centre. The guests looked around the exhibition of industrial and agricultural potential of Tatarstan.
During the celebrations Rustam Minnikhanov and Imangali Tasmagambetov took part in national Tatar and Kazakh games, and a holiday concert, where Tatarstan masters of art showed a performance.
“Today we are taking part in a special event, we are meeting our friends and brothers, - the Republic of Tatarstan and its President Rustam Minnikhanov,” Imangali Tasmagambetov said addressing the audience. He expressed his gratitude for organization of Days of the Republic of Tatarstan in Kazakhstan, and added that ten years ago Astana and Kazan became twin cities.
Rustam Minnikhanov, in his turn, congratulated everyone of Sabantui holiday: “Let Tatar and Kazakh people always be together.” He thanked Kazakhstan leadership for support in organization of Days of the Republic of Tatarstan.
Imangali Tasmagambetov and Rustam Minnikhanov handed letters of gratitude to Kazakhstan cultural and art workers.
On 16 May, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with participation of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov reported that the sowing of spring crops is in full swing in the republic with 1m 38 thousand hectares or 61 per cent of the planned have been sown.
On May 14, on the sidelines of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Head of the Federal Service for Accreditation Dmitry Volvach signed an agreement on interaction and cooperation in the development of the halal industry.
On May 14, Prime Minister of Tajikistan Kokhir Rasulzoda, who arrived on a working visit in Kazan to take part in the events of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, was met by Prime Minister of the republic Aleksey Pesoshin and other officials at the Kazan International Airport.
On 9 May Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin took part in a ceremony of laying flowers to the monument “The victorious soldier” dedicated to the celebrations of the Day of Victory in the Great Patriotic War (WW II) 1941-1945 and held at Arsk cemetery in Kazan.
