Russian Wheelchair Basketball Cup finishes in Kazan

On September 22, at the Kazan Basket-Hall a game for the third place between Bars Kanatlary (Leopard's wings) and Falkon from Moscow was held within the framework of the Open Russian Wheelchair Basketball Cup. The Kazan team won the tough game with a score of 61:47. Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, who came to the Basket-Hall by the metro, Aide to the President Tatiana Larionova, Tatarstan Minister of Youth Affairs and Sport Vladimir Leonov attended the game.
The Cup started in Kazan on September 19. The competitions were held for the sixth time, with participation of eight teams from Chelyabinsk, Kazan, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Tyumen and Stavropol.
Welcoming participants, Rustam Minnikhanov emphasized their ethos of sport. “We always say that our nation should be healthy, but this requires sport activities. I assure you that Tatarstan will always support this kind of sport,” he said, adding that the athletes are resourceful, have special skill and sport courage.
“Wheelchair basketball has reached such a high level that we are ready to host Europe Cup in Kazan if we have the support,” the chief referee Mikhail Lokshin noted.
Following the game the best teams and players of the tournament were awarded. Thus, Vasily Kochetkov from the Bars Kanatlary team became the best basketball sniper, while Ruslan Kozhevnikov from Tatarstan team was awarded for his courage.
The BasKI (St. Petersburg) scored a victory in the tournament the second time in a row, while the Nevsky Alians (St. Petersburg) won a silver medal.
On 15 December, speaking at a meeting of the competition committee of the regional public competition “The Manager of the Year” about its results in 2025, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin said that the list of 155 participants (nominees), who are heads of enterprises and organizations from various industries and sectors of the economy, for the competition was formed based on recommendations from regional ministries and departments, city and district municipalities, employers' associations and the Federation of Trade Unions of the republic.
On 6 December speaking at a regional meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic with all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the regional Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector Marat Ayzatullin reported about progress in implementation of the of multi-apartment houses capital overhaul programme.
On 5 December, congratulating volunteers with the International Volunteers Day, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Leyla Fazleeva wrote in her address: “
Your boundless kindness, sincere desire to help others and active civic position deserve special recognition and deep gratitude. There are over 5,000 volunteer associations operating successfully in Tatarstan, with a total membership of over 220,000 caring people of all ages and professions. Every year the contribution of volunteers into public life of the republic becomes more noticeable.
On 4 December Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Shamil Gafarov, who is the Chief of Staff of the Office of the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic, took part in a strategic session on the establishment of an inter-university campus in the republic being held at the Kazan Aircraft University on 4-6 December with participation of more than 100 people and more than 40 experts in politics, economy, science, education and industry from all over Russia.
