Tatarstan President meets representatives from one of the largest private medical centers in the world

On September 24, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov had a meeting with project managers and representatives from the Mayo Clinic (USA).
Being the largest private medical centers in the world, the Mayo Clinic is based in Rochester, Minnesota. It is the world’s largest integrated team of multispecialty public clinics, research institutions and laboratories. Every year the Mayo clinic treats hundreds of thousands of patients at the highest international standards using the most advanced medical technologies.
The delegation comprising representatives from the Ministry of Health of the republic and Regional Clinical Hospital visited the Mayo Clinic a few days ago. A scientific and practical symposium themed "Human resource management, patient safety" was organized for Tatarstan specialists within the framework of their trip to the USA.
On September 25, an international conference "World quality standard: from idea to implementation. Mayo Clinic's experience” will take place at the Kazan Educational Center of Advanced Medical Technologies with participation of the Mayo Clinic’s representatives.
Welcoming participants of the meeting, Rustam Minnikhanov noted that he has heard a lot about the world famous clinic that is a model medical center with a very high national ranking. "We have a lot to learn from you," Rustam Minnikhanov said.
Tatarstan President told the Mayo Clinic’s representatives about the work Tatarstan has done recently to modernize its health sector. "We have seriously updated our leading clinics, rural health facilities, established regional high-tech medical centers and inter-municipal centers providing quality services to rural dwellers," Rustam Minnikhanov noted in particular.
In his turn, Assistant Professor of Medicine Andrew Kurklinsky, representing the Mayor Clinic expressed his gratitude to Rustam Minnikhanov for the meeting and opportunity to come to Kazan. He said that he had visited the capital of Tatarstan 33 years ago. As for the other representatives of the Mayo Clinic, it was their first trip to Russia. According to Kurklinsky, Tatarstan representatives showed a strong interest in cooperation with the Mayo Clinic.
"The Mayo Clinic conducts about 300 seminars and various workshops around the world throughout the year. The conference organized by colleagues from Tatarstan, is not only the first one held in Russia, but the first one themed "Quality in Medicine”. It was quite unexpected for us because high standards were set from the very beginning,” Kurklinsky said.
Tatarstan Minister of Health Adel Vafin, Aide to Tatarstan President on Social Affairs Tatiana Larionova and other officials took part in the meeting.
On 16 May, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with participation of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov reported that the sowing of spring crops is in full swing in the republic with 1m 38 thousand hectares or 61 per cent of the planned have been sown.
On May 14, on the sidelines of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Head of the Federal Service for Accreditation Dmitry Volvach signed an agreement on interaction and cooperation in the development of the halal industry.
On May 14, Prime Minister of Tajikistan Kokhir Rasulzoda, who arrived on a working visit in Kazan to take part in the events of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, was met by Prime Minister of the republic Aleksey Pesoshin and other officials at the Kazan International Airport.
On 9 May Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin took part in a ceremony of laying flowers to the monument “The victorious soldier” dedicated to the celebrations of the Day of Victory in the Great Patriotic War (WW II) 1941-1945 and held at Arsk cemetery in Kazan.
