Conference “Legal science and law in 21st century” opens at Kazan Federal University

On September 25, Tatarstan Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov, deputy of Russian State Duma Vasily Likhachev, Tatarstan prosecutor Ildus Nafikov took part in opening of the international research and practice conference “Legal science and law in 21st century” dedicated to 210th anniversary of Kazan University.
The conference will be held on September 25-26. A plenary session and excursion around the university will be held today, sessions and solemn reception of Chairman of the Guardian Council of law department of Kazan Federal University and Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin will be held tomorrow.
Distinguished graduates of law department and 250 scientists from across the country came to take part in the conference.
“New stage in the history of legal education is connected with revival of law department. Today it is one of the biggest departments,” Ildar Khalikov said. He noted that a lot of famous scientists, heads of law enforcement agencies, local self-government and state authorities graduated from this department.
Deputy of Russian State Duma and professor Vasily Likhachev conveyed greetings from Chairman of Russian State Duma Sergey Naryshkin, and said that federal centre can has always counted on the potential of law, political, and socio-economic community of the modern university.
On 15 December, speaking at a meeting of the competition committee of the regional public competition “The Manager of the Year” about its results in 2025, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin said that the list of 155 participants (nominees), who are heads of enterprises and organizations from various industries and sectors of the economy, for the competition was formed based on recommendations from regional ministries and departments, city and district municipalities, employers' associations and the Federation of Trade Unions of the republic.
On 6 December speaking at a regional meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic with all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the regional Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector Marat Ayzatullin reported about progress in implementation of the of multi-apartment houses capital overhaul programme.
On 5 December, congratulating volunteers with the International Volunteers Day, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Leyla Fazleeva wrote in her address: “
Your boundless kindness, sincere desire to help others and active civic position deserve special recognition and deep gratitude. There are over 5,000 volunteer associations operating successfully in Tatarstan, with a total membership of over 220,000 caring people of all ages and professions. Every year the contribution of volunteers into public life of the republic becomes more noticeable.
On 4 December Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Shamil Gafarov, who is the Chief of Staff of the Office of the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic, took part in a strategic session on the establishment of an inter-university campus in the republic being held at the Kazan Aircraft University on 4-6 December with participation of more than 100 people and more than 40 experts in politics, economy, science, education and industry from all over Russia.
