Rustam Minnikhanov meets Emir of Mecca

On October 4, during his working trip to Saudi Arabia, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov met Emir of Mecca, Prince Mashal ibn Abdullah ibn Abdul-Alaziz.

First of all, Tatarstan President conveyed words of gratitude to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, the King of Saudi Arabia Abdullah ibn Abdilazīz for his invitation to visit the country and Muslim sacred places. Rustam Minnikhanov also said that he was very impressed by rapid development of Saudi Arabia and reforms taking place in the country. He also thanked Emir of Mecca for warm reception of Tatarstan delegation and perfect organization of the visit.

Tatarstan President continued that 1700 pilgrims from Tatarstan came to Saudi Arabia to perform Hajj this year, and noted that everything was organized on a very high level.

Rustam Minnikhanov told Emir of Mecca about socio-economic and cultural development of the Republic of Tatarstan. The parties exchanged opinions about prospects of further cooperation between Tatarstan and Saudi Arabia in trade-economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres.

Emir of Mecca invited Tatarstan President to take part in Jiddah economic forum. Rustam Minnikhanov said that Tatarstan delegation took part in the forum last year, and representatives of the republic are going to present their exposition at the forum next year. Rustam Minnikhanov invited His Royal Highness Prince Mashal ibn Abdullah ibn Abdul-Alaziz to Tatarstan.

Chief of Staff of Tatarstan President’s Administrative Office Asgat Safarov, Aide to Tatarstan President on international issues Radik Gimatdinov, mufti, Chairman of the Spiritual Administration of the Muslims of the Republic of Tatarstan Kamil Samigullin, took part in the meeting.

On October 5, members of Tatarstan delegation will take part in solemn reception on behalf of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, the King of Saudi Arabia Abdullah ibn Abdilazīz.
