III Russian international congress of neurologists to be held in Kazan

On October 7, at a briefing at Tatarstan Government House, Tatarstan Minister of Health Adel Vafin said that 2, 000 delegates and guests from Russia, CIS, Europe and North America will take part in the 3d Russian International Congress of neurologists “Cerebrovascular pathology and stroke” that will open on October 8 in Kazan.
Russian Minister of Health Veronika Skvortsova is expected to take part in the congress.
Adel Vafin informed participants of the briefing that 14, 000 patients with acute cerebrovascular diseases are hospitalized in the republic every year. According to the minister, 17 vascular centres equipped with state-of-the-art computed tomographic scanners are successfully working in the republic.
Head of the Department for Neurology, Neurosurgery and Medical Genetics of Russian national research medical university named after N.I. Pirogov, chief neurologist of Russian Ministry of Health Evgeny Gusev said that 450, 000 strokes are registered in Russia every year. At the same time, stroke is often a result of other diseases.
“It is important that 1.5 thousand Russian and international leading experts, neurologists with a great experience in rendering aid to patients will take part in the congress. It enables developing optimal criteria to help patients” Evgeny Gusev said.
More than 80 per cent of patients are taken to vascular centres with possible strokes in Tatarstan. Specialists say that timely prevention of the disease is important.
Summing up, Evgeny Gusev expressed gratitude to regional leadership for support in organizing the congress of neurologists and said that Tatarstan society of neurologists is one of the best in Russia.
Main issues to be discussed at the congress will be epidemiology of vascular cerebropathy, risk factors and pathogenesis of acute and chronic cerebrovascular pathology, issues of rehabilitation and prevention. Special emphasis will be put on the use of new medical and invasive technologies in clinical practice.
On 15 December, speaking at a meeting of the competition committee of the regional public competition “The Manager of the Year” about its results in 2025, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin said that the list of 155 participants (nominees), who are heads of enterprises and organizations from various industries and sectors of the economy, for the competition was formed based on recommendations from regional ministries and departments, city and district municipalities, employers' associations and the Federation of Trade Unions of the republic.
On 6 December speaking at a regional meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic with all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the regional Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector Marat Ayzatullin reported about progress in implementation of the of multi-apartment houses capital overhaul programme.
On 5 December, congratulating volunteers with the International Volunteers Day, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Leyla Fazleeva wrote in her address: “

There are over 5,000 volunteer associations operating successfully in Tatarstan, with a total membership of over 220,000 caring people of all ages and professions. Every year the contribution of volunteers into public life of the republic becomes more noticeable.
On 4 December Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Shamil Gafarov, who is the Chief of Staff of the Office of the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic, took part in a strategic session on the establishment of an inter-university campus in the republic being held at the Kazan Aircraft University on 4-6 December with participation of more than 100 people and more than 40 experts in politics, economy, science, education and industry from all over Russia.
