Rustam Minnikhanov meets delegation of Turkish Oğuz Textile Company led by Board Chairman İsrafil Uçurum

On October 30, at his meeting with delegation of Turkish Oğuz Textile Company led by its Board Chairman İsrafil Uçurum, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov congratulated everyone on the 91st anniversary of the Republic of Turkey that was celebrated on October 29. He wished Turkish people wellbeing and development under leadership of the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

“Turkey is our main trade and economic partner, our relations in the sphere of culture, science, education, and medicine are actively developing, inter-Parliamentary and inter-municipal interaction is realized,” Rustam Minnikhanov said. Besides, Turkey is one of the main investors in Special Economic Zone “Alabuga” today. The Consulate General of the Republic of Turkey is successfully working in Tatarstan, and Tatarstan opened its representative office in Istanbul.

Speaking about development of textile industry Rustam Minnikhanov said that after the break-up of the Soviet Union light industry, including textile production went into decline. “We would like to organize supplies of consumer goods, open modern production facilities, create infrastructure,” Rustam Minnikhanov said. He also thanked Oğuz Textile company for participation in the exhibition of consumer goods and textile products that will open in Kazan on October 31.

“There is no doubt that Turkey is one of the world's best textile manufacturing countries. Turkish textile products are sought after among our customers,” Rustam Minnikhanov said. He added that there is an opportunity to organize textile production in other Tatarstan regions.

Turkish colleagues, in their turn, said that Tatarstan and Kazan need a modern exhibition center, and representatives of Turkish light industry can take part in different exhibitions. They also noted that Turkish businessmen are oriented at long-term cooperation.
