Tatarstan President: “Tatarstan police stands up for the interests of multiethnic people of the republic”

On November 10, at the Piramida Entertainment Complex in Kazan, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in a solemn event dedicated to the Day of Internal Affairs Agencies' Employees. Speaking at the event, Rustam Minnikhanov appreciated the performance of the police of the republic, noting their contribution to the daily work on preventing and solving crimes.

“The Tatarstan police stands up for the interests of the multiethnic people of the republic. Your work allows not only to withstand successfully the criminal onslaught, but also contribute greatly to the improvement of the operational situation," Minnikhanov said.

The Head of the Republic stressed that thanks to professionalism and experience of the police workers the crime rate in the republic is still considerably lower than that in Russia and Volga Federal District in an average. Moreover, over a number of years the positive trend has maintained in the activity of the internal affairs agency of the republic: the number of crimes committed is steadily declining. In many areas of operational activities the Tatarstan police holds leading positions both in the Federal District and in Russia.

Tatarstan President also noted the work the regional police done in 2014. Thus, the police competently and professionally executed their security mission during social, political and sporting events significant both for the republic and the whole country.

"Stability and peace in Tatarstan, confidence in the future is largely dependent on your professionalism, incorruptibility, experience and ability to be proactive. Today you are facing challenges. Our society imposes high demands on your work, waiting for significant results in prevention of crime, corruption and other threats to security and, of course, hopes that your work will be more open and efficient," Minnikhanov said.

Tatarstan President handed in governmental and departmental awards to the most distinguished policemen.
