19 November 2014, Wednesday

On November 19, during his working visit to Mumbai (India), Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov met executives of Tata Group and Swan Energy Ltd. Indian businessmen also took part in the meeting.

Representatives of Indian companies told Rustam Minnikhanov about their activity and prospective areas. The companies mainly work in the real sector of economy, chemical and petrochemical industries, production of fertilizers, supply of liquefied gas, and shipbuilding.

Indian partners made proposals on cooperation in oil and gas sector, shipbuilding, and other spheres. They believe that the visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to India in December 2014 will give impetus to further cooperation between Russia and India and help implementing new projects.

Minnikhanov noted that production of fertilizers is one of the most prospective joint projects. “Implementation of OAO “Ammony” project that requires sufficient volumes of natural gas is nearly finished in Tatarstan. We are ready to discuss creation of enterprises in gas and chemical industry,” Tatarstan President said. Other prospective areas of cooperation are chemistry, petrochemistry and oil production.

Tatarstan President invited participants of the meeting to the republic.
